Job Description

Do you have knowledge and experience in UNIX infrastructure, WiFi, LAN and firewalls? Sepura are extending the Infrastructure Support team, hiring a Network & Systems Administrator to provide refinements to existing solutions, whilst also contributing to technology roadmaps and systems enhancement

You will:

  • Provide business-as-usual / break-fix support for solutions deployed within Sepura
  • Ensure requests logged via the Service Desk are completed based on impact and priority
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to the UNIX infrastructure, WiFi, LAN and firewalls
  • Proactively communicate the status, plan of action(s), and resolution(s) of issues
  • Report on the health of IT services
  • Contribute towards/participate in root cause analysis activities
  • Research products and service to help define service roadmaps and contribute to the IT enhancement backlog

The candidate filling this position will have, or be able to obtain, UK Security Clearance

Job Requirements

Experience

Essential:

  • Minimal five years' experience in IT Networking role

Skills

Essential:

  • Significant experience in technical administration roles covering Hardware and Software
  • Administration of Cisco IP Telephony
  • Network design and implementation (LAN & WAN)
  • Administration of Cisco Nexus switch infrastructure
  • Management for CheckPoint firewall technologies
  • Access control and threat mitigation
  • Wireless infrastructure (preferably Aruba)
  • Strong technical problem solving skills and experience

Desirable:

  • UNIX server administration (NIS, DHCP, DNS, Email, X Windows)
  • Supporting NetApp storage (NAS/SAN)
  • Experience of scripting/automation languages
  • Backup solutions BackupExec/Veeam/NetVault
  • Dell Server hardware and system management tools
  • Understanding of industry trends and emerging threats
  • Practical experience of Cyber Essentials and/or ISO27001
  • Experience of interpreting information from security analysis tools
  • Experience of deploying and managing cloud services
  • Two-factor authentication
  • Proxy servers and web filtering
  • Windows server administration
  • Practical experience of VMware

Qualifications

Essential:

  • A-Level/HND Qualification

Desirable:

  • ITIL qualification (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) or equivalent IT Service Management certification or experience
