Job Description

Are you experienced in engineering quality? Do you have strong analytical and problem-solving techniques? Sepura are looking for a Product Development Quality Engineer to actively participate in the development lifecycle of new products, ensuring process capability meets the agreed standard, whilst improving efficiency through review and analysis


Main duties

  • To define CTQ measures and monitor project/product performance during the development process, ensuring product quality
  • To provide data, analysis and feedback on product issues, trends and actions
    - Ensuring that actions are prioritised and progressed through robust root-cause analysis, corrective and preventative action, to sustainable and cost effective solutions
  • To review and implement process and capability improvements to ensure our product designs are manufacturable throughout their lifecycle with respect to quality, cost and capacity
  • To be responsible for phase gate sign-off to ensure all product developments are suitably mature to enter the production lifecycle
    - This includes ensuring that appropriate production quality can be achieved and any residual risks are accepted and understood
  • To help identify and approve new suppliers ensuring they are capable of manufacturing the product, with specific focus on custom component manufacturers i.e. tool makers, moulders and contract manufacturers
  • To ensure that all new suppliers that manufacture custom parts or assemblies have a documented quality control plan that is agreed between parties
  • Review and approve products/components that are being released into production
    - Raise initial issues with the design team and ensure closure or acceptance prior to project completion
  • To lead the RCA of product/project or process issues to ensure actions to prevent reoccurrence are implemented
  • Additional duties may arise on a seasonal or ad hoc basis, or as the business requires
  • This job involves some travelling so the successful application will have a full, clean driving licence and their own car
    - Expenses will be paid

Job Requirements



  • Experience in an engineering based Quality role; Product Quality, Product and Process engineering
  • Knowledge and practical use of six sigma methodology and tools to improve product developments and manufacturing processes
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving techniques (5-why, 8D, kaizen)
  • Proven experience of defining and ensuring CTQs are established and achieved during product development activities


  • Design for six sigma (Green Belt)




  • Proven ability to communicate in a variety of formats with an appreciation or target audience
  • Extensive people and relationship management skills
  • Process oriented
  • Proven ability to analyse complex data sets suggesting product/process improvements
  • Decision maker and able to act decisively under pressure
  • Good level of understanding of best practices across industries and howto apply relevant scalable processes
  • Ability to liaise and influence a cross functional project team
  • Confidence and experience to travel unaccompanied to varied geographical regions and cultures




  • Degree in engineering/quality field




  • Flexible with the ability to support occasional international travel
  • Strong team player with the patience to coach/train other team members
