Job Description

Sepura are recruiting for a Senior Electronics Engineer (Audio) who will be involved in board level designs for the whole lifecycle of product developments. The right candidate will have a strong background in analogue and audio electronics design from initial concept, specification and design through to software and systems integration, test and manufacture

Main responsibilities will include:

  • Requirements analysis and understanding including liaison with stakeholders
  • Technical design and specification of analogue and audio baseband circuitry for radio terminal products
    - Ownership of complete subsystem design and implementation, and testing
    - Integration with RF, Audio and MMI subsystems
    - Component specification and sourcing
    - Design, integration and test documentation
    - Definition, implementation and supervision of PCB layout rules and constraints 
  • Resolution of design and integration issues
  • Interaction with the Software team at device driver level (especially during bring-up phases)
  • Type approval support
  • Production technical support
  • Technical support to end customers
  • Progress reporting to project team and line manager 

Job Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in a relevant field

Experience

  • Minimum 7 years' electronics design experience

Skills

Essential:

  • Audio electronics design experience including Class D amplifiers, mics and speakers
  • Low power analogue electronic design experience
  • Experience of working with mechanical engineers to optimise audio performance
  • Design for EMC/ESD protection
  • Design for Manufacturing and Test

Desirable:

  • Design work relating to radio products
  • Scripting using Python
  • Analogue circuit simulation
  • Design for medium volume product manufacture
  • Experience of audio codecs
  • Experience of BT audio electronics
  • Experience interacting with Software teams at device driver level
