Job Requirements

As a Senior Electronics Engineer at Sepura Ltd, you will be involved in board level designs for the whole lifecycle of product developments. Reporting to the Baseband Team Leader, you should have a good background in circuit design from initial concept, specification and design through to software and systems integration, test and manufacture. This role needs a competent mixed signal designer.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Requirements analysis and understanding including liaison with stakeholders
  • Technical design and specification of baseband circuitry for radio terminal products, including:
    • Ownership of the complete subsystem design and implementation.
    • Integration with RF, Audio and MMI subsystems
    • Component specification and sourcing
    • Design, integration and test documentation
    • Definition, implementation and supervision of PCB layout rules and constraints
  • Collaborating across disciplines to resolve design and integration issues
  • Interaction with the Software team at device driver level (especially during bring-up phases)
  • Supporting type approval activities
  • Providing technical support to end customers and subcontract manufacturers
  • Progress reporting to project team and line manager

Skills and Experience


  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in relevant field


  • Minimum 3 years' electronics design experience

Essential skills:

  • Experience of analogue design, ideally audio amplifiers in a low power environment.
  • Experience of communication interfaces and buses - USB, SPI, I2C
  • Low power circuit design for battery powered products
  • Design for EMC/ESD protection
  • Design for Manufacturing and Test

Desirable skills:

  • Experience with power supply design in a mobile or low power environment.
  • Experience with microprocessor and microcontroller designs
  • Experience with memory subsystems e.g. DDR, Nand, EMMC
  • Experience interacting with Software teams at the device driver level
  • Design work relating to radio products
  • Experience of designing for signal integrity
  • Design for medium volume product manufacture
