Due to continued success, we are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and highly motivated Senior Project Manager - Outsourcing to join the Project Management team on a fixed-term basis for one year

You will manage multiple complex projects delivering business critical product solutions to demanding schedules and budgets for mission critical customer applications

As a Senior Project Manager, you will have at least 5 years' experience in managing complex hardware projects ideally for mobile communications solutions, including packages of sub-contracted work

Your role

Sepura needs an experienced Senior Project Manager that can:

  • Be accountable for delivering high visibility technology solutions to time and budget
  • Demonstrate strong organisational and leadership skills
  • Show willingness and capability to think laterally and pragmatically to find solutions to problems and remove roadblocks
  • Have confidence to lead others while understanding when to escalate and ask for wider stakeholder input
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills (written and verbal) within all levels of a business
  • Applies project management tools and techniques to achieve project objectives, meet schedule deadlines and budget targets
  • Ensure approaches/techniques are used for building high performing teams, maintaining good team morale and a high level of operating efficiency
  • Demonstrates leadership by promoting trust, interaction and shared commitment within teams
  • Experience managing sub-contracted packages of work to external design and manufacturing solution providers (ODM and CM's) in Europe and the Far East
  • Incorporating quality into the project delivery

Your day to day

Our customer base includes many different industries and markets around the world. Our complete TETRA and LTE solutions have been developed specifically for users in multiple sectors to face their critical communications challenges 

There is no such thing as a typical day here at Sepura. You will be supported by your manager and team, as well as collaborating with other departments across the business. Project Management activities that you will be responsible for include:

  • Planning, management and leadership of multiple complex projects
  • Manage regular project meetings, ensuring accountability of team members and individuals in the wider business
  • Ensure approaches/techniques are used for building high performing teams, maintaining good team morale and a high level of operating efficiency 
  • Ensure personal and team adherence to defined project management processes
  • Capture and manage project risks and opportunities with appropriate planning of mitigations
  • Communicate with stakeholders, ensuring an appropriate escalation of issues
  • Negotiate the availability of project resources with Resource Managers and other Project Managers, ensuring smoothed and optimised resource utilisation
  • Work in partnership with Senior Technical Leads/Architects and Product Managers to deliver industry leading solutions into volume production
  • Working remotely with external design and manufacturing solution providers ensuring they meet contractual expectations

This job may involve occasional travelling so the successful applicant will have a full, clean driving licence and their own car. Travel expenses will be paid

Job Requirements

What you need to succeed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in an engineering discipline
  • Training in project management to a project manager level, with accredited certification through IPMA, APM, Prince 2, IPM or equivalent

Experience and skills

  • 5+ years' experience leading complex development projects and programme teams in a multi-discipline environment on complex product development projects, using Agile and Waterfall methodologies
  • Knowledge and confidence in managing external design and manufacturing solution providers including those based in the Far East
  • Experience creating Statement of Work and Procurement Specficiations external design and manufacturing solution providers to meet technical and commercial requirements

Nice to have

Qualifications

  • Masters degree or equivalent in an engineering discipline
  • Training in programme management

Experience and skills

  • Experience with battery and charger solution design and delivery
  • Experience with audio accessories
  • Experience with cable/connector design and procurement
  • Experience in capturing and defining outsourcing processes and procedures
  • Product engineering background in embedded electronic solutions (Electronics, Mechanics, Audio, Conformance) for high performance mission critical products
  • Documentation of project management processes and an ability to contribute to the maintenance and improvement of existing processes
  • Wider understanding of product development principles (Electronics, Mechanical, Manufacturing and Test) and methodologies to facilitate best practice for product design and development
  • Experience working for similar sized organisations and an ability to adjust approaches (neither a large multinational or a start-up)
