Job Description

Do you have a technical background with proven experience of delivering products from conception to volume production whilst managing risks, budgets, personnel and objectives? Sepura are hiring a Senior Project Manager to develop production equipment for new communication products

The right candidate will be a highly motivated and industry proven Project Manager with a technical background and experience of new product development, enjoy problem solving and be an excellent communicator

Main duties:

  • Management and leadership of complex projects
  • Manage regular project meetings, ensuring accountability of team members and individuals in the wider business
  • Applies advanced project management tools and techniques to achieve project objectives, meet schedule deadlines and budget targets
  • Ensure approaches/techniques are used for building high performing teams, maintaining good team morale and a high level of operating efficiency
  • Ensure personal and team adherence to Sepura's defined project management processes
  • Captures and manages project risks with appropriate mitigations
  • Manage project procurement, with mitigation planning for supply chain risks
  • Communicates to stakeholders, ensuring an appropriate escalation of issues
  • Negotiates availability of project resources with Resource Managers and other Project Managers, ensuring smoothed and optimised resource utilisation
  • Demonstrates leadership by promoting trust, interaction and shared commitment within teams
  • Incorporates quality into the project delivery
  • Working in partnership with Senior Technical Leads and Product Managers to deliver industry leading products into volume production

Sepura is part of a global organisation and hence occasional travel may be required. Additional duties may arise on a seasonal or ad hoc basis, or as the business requires

UK Security Clearance, or ability to obtain it, is desirable 

Job Requirements


  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in an engineering discipline
  • Training in project management to a project manager level, with accredited certification through IPMA, APM, Prince 2 or IPM or equivalent



  • 7-10 years' experience leading development teams in a multi-discipline environment on complex product development projects, using Agile and Waterfall methodologies is an advantage 
  • An experience stakeholder manager able to communicate to all organisational levels from junior engineers to senior managers, understanding and delivering against their expectations. Be prepared to escalate impacts/delays to senior stakeholders in a timely manner
  • Extensive experience of motivating teams and individuals to deliver


  • Experience delivering projects involving complex telecommunications solutions (including but not limited to TETRA/5G/LTE)
  • An understanding of and experience of projects that included regulatory approvals such as EMC and Safety
  • Experience of working in a cost sensitive manufacturing environment and applying financial acumen and business cases to drive priorities
  • Reasonable understanding of P&Ls
  • Experience of multi-site/multi-cultural operation 



  • The candidate should be able to demonstrate a track record in setting and managing priorities, articulating and gaining engagement for ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences and the ability to motivate in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • A thorough understanding of hardware and software development processes and tools (both Waterfall & Agile) including elements such as:
    - Project/Programme schedule planning
    - Risk/Opportunity tools (Jira or similar)
    - Technical Document Management
    - Cost estimation tools


  • A proven track record of promoting innovation in process and technical solutions. Finding creative technical solutions to fast track development, minimising time to market while maintaining and improving quality
