Job Description

We are recruiting for a key role within our Facilities Management department at site on the Cambridge Research Park. As a member of the team, you will provide support and maintenance services, frequently in partnership with our service providers, but also be able to undertake some repair and maintenance activities yourself. You must be able to prioritise tasks, whilst maintaining a professional and efficient service to the users. Normal office hours apply however, you will be expected to respond to out of hours emergencies. You must either be security cleared (Security Check level), or be willing to undergo the vetting process upon commencement of employment.

Main duties include:

  • Engineering services contractor supervision and liaison
  • Utilising the Building Management System to manage HVAC systems and energy monitoring
  • Providing support for and administration of, building security and fire systems
  • Service contractor risk management; checking RAMS and issuing of permits to work
  • Undertaking regular site inspections
  • Maintaining site log books and operating manuals
  • Managing stock of maintenance consumables
  • Light repairs and maintenance to building fabric and fixtures
  • Managing waste streams and associated records
  • Front of house duties to cover team breaks and leave

Job Requirements


  • Vetted to Security Checked (SC) clearance following commencement of employment
  • Experience of working in a corporate environment
  • Working knowledge of H&S in the workplace
  • Understanding of HVAC and building systems
  • Good MS Office skills; excel, word, outlook
  • Professional with excellent communication skills
  • Flexible working, ability to attend at site 'out of hours'
  • Hands on experience of maintenance tasks/light repairs


  • Current Security Checked (SC) clearance
  • IOSH or NEBOSH qualified
  • City & Guilds Qualified in a Trade or Engineering related subject
  • Basic CAD skills
  • First Aid at work qualified
  • Full UK Drivers licence
