Job Description

Sepura, part of the Hytera Group, a leading global supplier of critical communication radio systems, have a new vacancy for a Verification Engineering Team Leader to work on the development of professional mobile radio products and accessories.

Based in our Cambridge development centre and reporting to the Head of Electronics, the applicant would take ownership of all test engineering activities, both internally and externally.

You will have a strong background of test engineering within either the hardware of software domain and be willing to take on the challenge of managing our hardware verification activities here at Sepura.

As a Team Leader you will have responsibility for the management of the Conformance Engineers and Test Engineering Team as well as contributing to the development of internal test automation solutions.

The right candidate will have a proven track record of test engineering either within the hardware or software domain, experience of leadership and/or mentoring a small test team, be highly organized and be an excellent communicator.

Work scope:

  • Managing a team of conformance and test engineers, including:
    - maintaining accurate resource forecasting
    - performance management and personal development reviews
    - reinforcing process and setting standards
  • Technical leadership within the test automation discipline
  • Working with Senior Stakeholders to understand and direct the overall test engineering prioritisation
  • Responsible for external test house strategy and management
  • Regular reporting to senior stakeholders

Job Requirements

Essential skills and experience:

The applicant should have skills and experience in most of the following areas

  • Experience in taking a leading role within a small test engineering team
  • Test automation using high-level scripting languages such as Python
  • A basic understanding of Project Management tools and techniques

Desirable skills and experience:

Ideally the applicant will have skills and experience in one or more of the following areas

  • Electronics Test and Measurement experience
  • Experience working with external suppliers to supplement internal test capabilities (e.g. Interoperability Testing, Environmental Testing, EMC Testing, Product Safety Assessment)
  • Experience programming in C#
  • Experience programming in Labview
